Over Rs 16 Cr for Kangan road projects: Mian Altaf
KANGAN MAY 19: Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad today conducted an extensive tour of Kangan constituency and took stock of the ongoing roads projects coming up under PMGSY in the constituency. During the tour, the Minister visited Tikbagh, Gutlibagh, Babavalio, Preng Akhal, Hyan, Chappergund, Wurpash, Shajinar, Anderwon, Brimchan, Satvas, Babareshi Chattergul, Chattergul Bala, Satrina and Kawcherrwon villages situated at high altitudes.The Minister said road connectivity in the constituency has reached to 90 percent while efforts are on to provide road link to those areas which lack road connectivity as yet. Ramzan lays foundation of Cooperative Shopping Complex at Handwara
SRINAGAR MAY 19: Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) and Transport Choudhary, Mohammad Ramzan today laid the foundation of Shopping Complex at Handwara. The shopping complex is being constructed by Cooperative Marketing Society Handwara at an estimated cost of Rs. 17 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the people of the area would be benefitted with the completion of this shopping complex and get adequate quantity of essentials commodities under the one roof. He said that the government is mulling to open additional 172 new Gas Agencies in the state for the convenience of the consumers, adding that the opening of these gas agencies would ensure timely and effective distribution and delivery system in far-off and remote areas of the state. He also directed the owners of existing gas agencies for ensuring the home delivery of LPG cylinders by May 30. Govt believes holistic development, political emancipation of the people: Sagar

NEW DELHI, MAY 18: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday afternoon met Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh here and discussed various matters pertaining to the peace and development in the State.The focus of the discussion was recent earth quake which hit various parts of districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban. Rather cautions against opposition’s politics of deceit

Sagar visits old city, directs speeding up heritage projects
SRINAGAR, MAY 17:- While asking the officers to speed up the beautification project of the old city, Srinagar being taken up on heritage basis, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the same would go a long way in boosting the economic and tourism related activities and bringing Srinagar on the tourist map.The Minister was interacting with officers during his tour of the old City today.
